CELEBRATE SISTERHOOD!
Join this special Women’s Week program providing a space for women to assemble, break bread together, and experience a moving program of dance with BrockusRed, whose choreographic style blurs the line between modern dance and jazz techniques. Lunch included.
12:30-1:40: Use this opportunity to mix and mingle with like-minded guests celebrating Palm Springs Women’s Week while Palm Springs Chef Ivan, along with Sous Chef Dora, layout an authentic home-made Mexican buffet and stoke up the grill to prepare fresh, hot street tacos. Endless chilled beverages will quench your thirst. Enjoy live jazzy keyboard tunes in a classic setting, The Palm Springs Woman’s Club, founded in 1938!
1:40-2:00: Presenting BrockusRed – choreography by Deborah Brockus Artistic Director, who has been labeled ‘the single most important person in Southland dance” an “impresario”, ‘ the mother superior of LA dance” and ”tireless” by the Los Angeles Times for her involvement in establishing the local LA dance scene. Powerful music, charismatic spoken word, and inventive choreography fuse to create an immersive experience in this intimate space, where the connection between dancer and guests will spark interpretive dance that will leave you feeling connected and fueled as you enter your Jazz Festival weekend.
